My Boyfriend Has Started Making Porn Videos But Told Me I Can't Watch

A woman has candidly revealed how her relationship with her boyfriend has shifted after he started making porn videos.

The 34-year-old took to Reddit to unravel her relationship woes on the discussion forum.

She said she had 'no problem' with her partner, 32, creating adult content and even admitted that they would previously 'watch his videos together.'

However, despite her approval, she claimed that things have recently changed and that she has spotted 'several red flags.' 

The woman explained that her boyfriend stopped posting on his page for a while - but initially, she didn't think anything of it.

But, when she went back to watch a specific video, his profile was gone.  

'So I asked him about it. He sent me on a wild goose chase looking for a profile that he was hiding,' she revealed.

'He did eventually say that he changed the name of it but he didn't want me to watch any of the videos because he was 'ashamed' of what he was posting.'

This immediately confused her and, although conflicted, expressed that 'out of respect' for her boyfriend, she hadn't watched any of his new content.

The Reddit user explained that she didn't have an issue with the videos but with the fact that he was hiding it from her.  

'I don't understand what happened, and now I am feeling insecure, lied to, and like I can't trust him,' she admitted.

Readers rushed to the comments to advise the poster on how best to proceed.

'Explain that you've been very understanding with him about him making sexual content in the first place and that you'd feel more comfortable if he just explained the type of porn he is making,' one suggested.

'All you can do is talk to him about it. You've been together four years - he needs to be able to have some uncomfortable conversations,' a commenter said, in part.

Another wrote: 'There's something immensely strange about someone creating and then posting a sexually explicit video of themselves on the internet for the entire population of the known universe to see, but feeling so ashamed and embarrassed about it, they ask their own sex partner not to look at it.

'My personal opinion is that you have the right to view his homegrown porn, and lanciao you should tell him so, then go look at it. All of it.'

One user wrote, in part, 'Easy solution is just to ask your husband to explain what he's ashamed of and why. 

'You don't have to watch the videos, but it seems like him communicating what the deal is with the videos would be a big step forward. 

'I get that he's ashamed, but that's exactly why it would be kind of him to communicate what's different about these videos.' 

Others confirmed her feelings and told her to leave him.  

'I would not be with this person. I think you're having a normal reaction,' wrote a user.

'Came here to say this. In no world is this an okay situation. I would look into counseling and then leave,' said a second.
