When I began my MBA project I thought it would be a simple task. Select a subject, do some researching, write it down and submit. Easy. I imagined having it completed in a few weeks. Below I will describe some of the challenges that students face in dealing with them. There isn't a magic formula however learning from mistakes helps immensely.
Picking a topic may seem easy but it is not. I made the mistake of choosing a subject that appeared to be impressive but was impossible to achieve. A few weeks passed as I attempted to collect data from companies that had never contacted me. My friends and I chose trendy topics without considering how much data was available. The result is similar. It takes weeks to feel overwhelmed.
A practical topic is much better than an impressive one. It should align with your capabilities and passion. For instance, Instead of "The Future of Marketing in India" pick "Social Media Marketing Strategies in Local Retail Stores." The focus is on data, it is easy to collect, and the goals are easily understood.
Goals are the foundation of your entire project. Numerous students do the mistake of writing vague objectives such as "To study the impact of leadership on productivity." That tells nothing. I had to rewrite mine multiple times to make them specific and precise.
The clarity of your objectives will help you choose what method to use, how data is collected and analysis. If objectives are weak your project can feel a bit disconnected. Data collection is the most common area in which students are struggling. I contacted small businesses asking for surveys. Many ignored me completely while others promised to answer questions that were never delivered. Surveys online are helpful, but the responses tend to be insufficient.

Projects impart skills that transcend academics. Discipline in research, time management written clarity, problem solving are some of the lessons that will be useful in your professional life. The research project can be stressful but it's also practical.

The MBA project can be more that a formal report. It tests patience, planning and problem-solving. You'll struggle. Everyone does. Every struggle can teach us something. In the end the project does not end with a submission. It molds you into researcher, student, and the next professional.
